Beautiful and full of life...

...is the perfect way to describe Anna and Tyler, as well as their engagement session! Anna is a big lover of plants and greenery, so her dream engagement photos included just that. We waited until late June to get the most lush and verdant backdrop for their images, and boy are we glad we did!

Our first stop was Sailer's Greenhouse in Shakopee. This was our first time there, and we will definitely be going back, especially in colder months! The staff was so accommodating, friendly, and helpful, and the fact that we came leading up to closing meant that they weren't too busy either. Anna and Tyler styled themselves in more casual attire for this spot, which gave the appearance that we just happened to catch them in the midst of an ultra-romantic plant shopping date - we think this is the perfect attire for a greenhouse setting. Needless to say, we love the way these photos turned out!

After Sailer's, we headed to a small beach on Prior Lake for some outdoor photos leading up to sunset. This location was another first for us, and again, one we will definitely be visiting again. Within a few steps we were able to shoot under a striking canopy of greens, through grasses as if we were in a meadow, on the beach during sunset, and on a dock for some cozy post-sunset snaps. To be honest, we were able to get so many different vibes from this one location it almost feels like four shoots in one! We especially love the timeless dressy ensembles that Anna and Tyler chose for this location - they blended perfectly with all of the vignettes and gave an elegant simplicity to let their love, smiles, and laughs truly shine.

As wedding photographers, we are always excited to shoot engagement sessions because it gives us an opportunity to get to know our couples and work with them before their big day. We had such an incredible time not only witnessing this sweet couple's love for one another, but also getting to know their posing preferences as well as their personalities! You can see in the pictures how sweet of a smile Anna has, but it truly is a reflection of how sweet, friendly, and personable she is as a person. The same goes for Tyler - you can see by the way he looks at Anna that his love for her has no bounds, and we're thrilled that we were able to capture that emotion for them in their engagement photos. We had an absolute blast shooting with these two, and we even ended up chatting at our cars until it was nearly dark and the mosquitoes became too much!
