Someone didn't want to miss out...

...on her newborn session! Elise did her best to stay awake for her entire session, but mom and dad were finally able to make her sleep :) We were able to get gorgeous shots of mom, dad, and furry big brother Boomer with Miss Elise awake as well as asleep! We also captured some of Elise's beautiful little belongings, including a stuffed rabbit that is identical to the one her mom Gretchen had as a little girl herself.

A lot of parents worry about what happens if their newborn doesn't sleep or is fussy during their newborn session, and to be honest the majority of our newborns are awake during most or all of the session! Since we shoot digital, we are able to take as many photos as we need to ensure we get a beautiful collection that's natural and timeless, but also accurately captures this tiny window of time in your lives. If Baby sleeps during the entire session, we can take advantage of the flexibility to stage lots of poses. On the other hand, if baby is awake, we can focus on Baby engaging with mom, dad, or whoever else might be present. And in the (very common) event that Baby isn't cooperating, although it can be stressful for parents, it's actually a perfect opportunity to capture you exercising those parental soothing instincts and comforting your little one. Regardless of how Baby acts during their newborn session, we can guarantee that you'll end up with photos that you'll cherish for their whole life and beyond :)
